Keeping Glastonbury hydrated and single use plastic free!

Our famous Water Bar visited Glastonbury to keep staff and festival goers refilled with the West Country's finest H2O.

More than 200,000 music lovers at Glastonbury were supplied with free, fresh drinking water by teams from Bristol Water – all without using plastic bottles.

Plastic free refills

We set up hundreds of free refill stations across the vast 1,500 acre Glastonbury site, along with our famous Water Bar – located near the Woodsies stage, where thirsty revelers could pour their own pint!

Our refill points helped support the festival's ban on single-use plastic bottles, and their aim of being one of the most environmentally conscious events in the world. This commitment is also part of 'Our Promise To The Planet' – Bristol Water and our parent company Pennon Group's ambitious plan to reduce carbon emissions and champion sustainability.

Keeping the water flowing

With Worthy Farm growing to the size of a small city during the festival week – planning has been underway since early this year to cope with an up-to six times increase in demand for water.  Over 23 Bristol Water staff have been working around the clock to ensure all water services on and away from the site remain seamless throughout. The network is continuously monitored by Bristol Water teams for the festival’s duration.

“We’re pleased to again be providing fresh, clean water for the hundreds of thousands of festival goers, crew, volunteers, and emergency services – who all make Glastonbury such an iconic event. Rezoning such a large amount of water requires months of planning, and I’d like to thank all of our teams for their hard work.”
