Customer COVID-19 update: home water sampling to resume

In accordance with the easing of lockdown from Monday 17 May, we will shortly be resuming randomly selected visits to homes across the region for water sampling purposes.

In order to ensure our water is of the high standard you expect, we select a number of homes across the region to visit and carry out water quality tests each week.

All of our workers will carry ID, and will be happy to wait outside while you verify their identify by calling our customer services team.

When entering your home, our workers will:

  • Wear face coverings
  • Carry ID cards
  • Socially distance
  • Need to access your kitchen tap

While we take samples constantly from our treatment works, we also sample from the point of use (kitchen taps) to ensure full end to end water quality levels of achieved. We do this to about 4,500 homes across the region each year.
