We’re proud to be sponsoring Bristol Beacon’s new education centre - Bristol Water Sound Studios - a state-of-the-art space for enhanced learning and greater access to the arts.

The partnership fully aligns with our commitment to positively impact the lives of our customers, communities and the environment beyond the delivery of clean and reliable drinking water.

Following a major multi-million-pound transformation, the Bristol Beacon (formerly Colston Hall) is now one of the best and most accessible performance and music education venues in Europe, showcasing world-famous acts as well as the best up-and-coming talent.

The Beacon’s refurbished Victorian cellar is home to the new education centre, which will host an expanded learning programme including revolutionary access to the arts for children with disabilities thanks to ground-breaking technology.

It includes three large education studios, four self-contained suites for education and practise, a recording studio, as well as a social area and library for informal presentations or gatherings.

The partnership will also mean we can use the space for several community engagement events each year, helping to support our strong commitment to the local community through education and social justice.

Laura Flowerdew, Bristol Water’s Chief Customer and Digital Officer, said:

“We’re delighted to be supporting the Bristol Beacon – a ground-breaking project which will be a huge asset for the city and provide enhanced educational opportunities for all.

“We look forward to seeing creativity flourish in the Bristol Water Sound Studios over the coming years.”

Louise Mitchell CBE, Bristol Beacon’s Chief Executive Officer, said:

“This building is our engine. It is our home. Bristol’s stage for everyone. The new Bristol Water Sound Studios are a fantastic city centre space where young musicians can practice, record, jam and learn and we hope that future Beacon Hall stars will start their musical careers in these state-of-the-art rooms.

“We are so grateful for the visionary support of Bristol Water which is invaluable to charities like Bristol Beacon.”
