The Queen Adelaide is a traditional country pub overlooking Blagdon Lake. It is run by Dave Green, who is a Fly Fishing Instructor and guide who has been fishing on Blagdon and Chew Valley lakes since 1992.
The pub now offers accommodation and can sleep up to six persons. We offer bed, breakfast and evening meals in a cosy pub environment. Guests have exclusive use of our roof terrace overlooking Butcombe Bay. Fishing packages, consisting of guided fishing on Blagdon or Chew Valley lake, accommodation, breakfast, packed lunch and evening meal are available.
We have fishing tackle for hire and have a selection of flies available to purchase (tied by Dave himself). So whether you would like a complete fishing package or wish to come and sample our Fishermen’s Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner when visiting this beautiful area we would be delighted to see you. Individuals, families and club groups welcome.

The Pig Sty

This is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and it is right on your doorstep. The Pig Sty has fast WiFi, a log-burner, and the usual mod-cons. The Tallet is a first floor self contained apartment in our barn conversion at Woodbarn Farm Denny Lane Chew Magna. It has two bedrooms and bathrooms, sitting room and fully equipped kitchen. It is available for short breaks and full weeks.
We are 1/4 mile from the picnic area and Salt and Malt and 2 miles from Woodford Lodge.
