Saving water in the bathroom
You probably use more water in the bathroom than any other part of your home – so it's a great place to really save big! Here's our top tips…
Ditch the monster baths
Check for a leaky loo
Drips or trickles down the back of the bowl often go undetected, and are particularly common in modern dual flush systems, wasting up to 400 litres of water a day and adding £100s to your water bill. Check your loo with our FREE LeakyLoo strips.
Also remember to use the little button if you have a dual flush!
Turn off the tap when brushing
It's a no-brainer for saving water, but you'd be surprised at how many people still leave the tap running while they brush their teeth. Kids are particularly bad for this, so make sure you keep reminding them.
Brush in – tap off!
Take the 4 minute shower challenge
By reducing your shower from 8 minutes to 4 you could save 40 litres of water each time! Plus you’ll knock £75 a year off your heating bill,* and reduce your carbon emissions.

Use the little flush!
If you've got a dual flush cistern on your toilet – make sure you push the right button! Save water by using the little flush for small jobs, and the big one only for… um… bigger jobs.
